At Northern Stone Trust, we recognize that our customers and other visitors are concerned about privacy. We want you to be confident that we make every effort to safeguard the security and confidentiality of your nonpublic personal information.

 

Financial Companies Choose How They Share Your Personal Information. Federal law gives consumers the right to limit some but not all information sharing.  Federal law also requires us to tell you how we collect, share, and protect your personal information.  Please read this notice carefully to understand what we do.  This Privacy Notice is being provided on behalf of Northern Stone Trust. It describes the general policy of Northern Stone Trust regarding the personal information of customers and former customers.

 

Information We May Collect.  The types of personal information Northern Stone Trust collects and shares depends on the product or service you have.  Northern Stone Trust may collect the following personal information: (1) Social Security Numbers; (2) account balances; (3) assets; (4) payment history; (5) credit history; (6) credit scores; (7) information Northern Stone Trust receives from your account file at the time Northern Stone Trust purchases or begins to service your account, such as your name, address, Social Security Number, and assets; (8) information that you may give Northern Stone Trust through discussion with you, or that Northern Stone Trust may obtain through your transactions with Northern Stone Trust, such as your income and payment history;  (9) information that Northern Stone Trust receives from consumer reporting agencies, such as your creditworthiness and credit history, and (10) information that Northern Stone Trust obtains from other third-party information providers, such as public records and databases that contain publicly available data about you, such as bankruptcy and mortgage filings.  All of the personal information that Northern Stone Trust collects is referred to in this notice as “collected information.”  When you are no longer our customer, we continue to share your information as described in this notice.

 

How Information Is Collected.  All financial companies need to share customers’ personal information to run their everyday business.  In the section below, we list the reasons financial companies can share their customers’ personal information; the reasons Northern Stone Trust chooses to share; and whether you can limit this sharing. We collect your personal information, for example, when you: make a payment, make a wire transfer, give us your contact information; pay us by check; pay your account by wire transfer; and, provide employment information.  We also collect your personal information from others, such as consumer reporting agencies (credit bureaus).


Confidentiality and Security of Collected Information.  Northern Stone Trust restricts access to collected information about you to individuals who need to know such collected information in order to perform services in connection with your account.  To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law.  Northern Stone Trust maintains physical safeguards (like restricted access), electronic safeguards (like encryption and password protection), and procedural safeguards (such as authentication procedures) to protect collected information about you.  These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.  We also restrict access to trained and supervised employees and third parties who agree to follow our policies and procedures.

 

Sharing Collected Information with Affiliates and Third Parties

 

Sharing with Affiliates.  From time to time, Northern Stone Trust may share collected information about customers and former customers with the following affiliated financial services companies in connection with administering and collecting accounts:

Sharing with Third Parties.  Northern Stone Trust does not share collected information about customers or former customers with third parties, except as permitted by applicable privacy law.  For example, collected information may be shared in certain circumstances (A) with third parties, to service or enforce accounts, (B) with consumer reporting agencies (credit bureaus), and (C) with law enforcement officials, to protect against fraud or other crimes.

           

Why Can’t I Limit All Sharing?  Federal law gives you the right to limit only: sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes – information about your credit worthiness; affiliates from using your information to market to you; and, sharing for non-affiliates to market to you.  Northern Stone Trust does not share your personal information in ways that would allow you to limit such sharing.

 

Special Notice Regarding Collected Information Subject to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.  This Privacy Notice is provided in accordance with federal privacy law, and it describes Northern Stone Trust’s privacy practices generally.  However, please be assured that collected information that is received or used for purposes of collecting a debt subject to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act is communicated only in accordance with that Act.
